Reserve Officers, Explorers and CMP’s Assist with Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint

Members of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Reserves, part of our Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) were on hand last Friday night to assist with the Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint. Also assisting were members of the Police Explorer Post and the Citizens Mobile Patrol.

The checkpoint was conducted from 11:00 PM until 2:00 AM on the southbound lanes of the 9600 block of Military Trail. Officers checked for proper vehicle equipment and driver’s licenses and were on the alert for drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Those found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs were charged with driving under the influence.
